HC Deb 23 June 1913 vol 54 c797
75. Mr. FFRENCH

asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland whether he is aware that county Wexford is deprived of a Land Court for the present year; and, as there are many Wexford cases to have a fair rent fixed pending, will he see that those cases are put on for hearing in the month of June or July by the Sub-Commissioner, in addition to the cases already listed from Carlow, Kilkenny, and Waterford during these months?

The CHIEF SECRETARY for IRELAND (Mr. Birrell)

The Land Commission inform me that all the applications to fix fair rents from the county Wexford in which the applications were lodged up to the 30th November, 1912, were listed for hearing before a Sub-Commission which sat in December, 1912. There are at present only eleven of such cases pending in the county, the majority of which have been lodged since the 1st April of the present year. Having regard to the claims of other districts, it would not be possible to arrange for the hearing of these cases during the months of June and July as proposed in the question. They will, however, be listed for hearing on the earliest opportunity.
