asked what sum is annually spent by the Government within the Mother-country with a view to the prevention of tropical diseases?

Mr. HARCOURT

At the present time His Majesty's Government makes direct Grants of £3,500 a year for the prevention of tropical diseases. The Grant is allocated as follows, namely:—

£1,000 to the Tropical Diseases Research Fund.

£1,000 to the Tropical Diseases Bureau. £1,000 to the Entomological Research Committee.

£500 to the Imperial Bureau of Entomology.
