HC Deb 17 June 1913 vol 54 cc189-90
19. Earl WINTERTON

asked the Secretary of State for War for what reason the venue of the forthcoming Royal Review was changed from Wimbledon to Hyde Park?

Colonel SEELY

The change was made because Hyde Park was found, owing to its more central position and greater accessibility, to be more convenient in every respect for all concerned.

20. Earl WINTERTON

asked the Secretary of State for War if it is decided that no Yeomanry, Mounted Rifles, or Territorial Artillery are to take part in the forthcoming Royal Review despite previous announcements to the contrary; and, if so, will he say whether the effect of this plan upon recruiting has been considered by the Director-General of Recruiting?

Colonel SEELY

The reply to the first part of the question is in the negative, and the latter part does not, therefore, arise.

Earl WINTERTON

Are they going to take part dismounted?

Colonel SEELY

I have nothing to add to what I have said.

Earl WINTERTON

In view of the great importance of' this matter to the whole of the Territorial Force, I beg to give notice that I shall raise the question on the Motion for Adjournment.
