HC Deb 17 June 1913 vol 54 c208
62. Mr. BRADY

asked whether there has been delay in the delivery of the details for stonework for the new College of Science, Dublin; whether, in consequence a large number of stonemasons have been thrown out of employment; and what steps he will take to ensure the early resumption of this work?

Mr. MASTERMAN

No delay has occurred that will interfere with the progress of erection of the building, and the Board of Works are informed that no stonecutters have been thrown out of employment. Several months will necessarily elapse before any cut stone can be used in the building.

Mr. BRADY

Is it not a fact that there are fewer stonecutters at work to-day than when the building was commenced?

Mr. MASTERMAN

I will make further inquiries.
