asked the Home Secretary if he has any jurisdiction or control over the London General Omnibus Company in the selection of routes taken by them; and, in particular, if he can prevent the use of purely residential streets by the company?

No, Sir.

Mr. BOYTON

Will the right hon. Gentleman say whether he can see his way to introduce legislation at an early date to deal with this class of traffic?

Mr. McKENINA

The hon. Gentleman suggests that the Home Secretary should have control over the traffic of London? Legislation of that kind I cannot promise to introduce.
