HC Deb 17 June 1913 vol 54 cc202-3
47. Mr. MACKINDER

asked whether the Caledonian Canal Commissioners have applied for a Grant from the Development Fund for the purpose of modernising the Crinan Canal; and whether it is proposed to make such a Grant?

Mr. MASTERMAN

The Canal Commissioners made an application in 1911, but the Development Commission did not see their way to recommend any Grant. The Treasury are consequently precluded by the terms of the Development and Road Improvement Funds Act from granting the application.
