§ 13. Mr. TOUCHEasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what restrictions exist as regards the number of concessions which may be granted or validated in respect of one firm or person or group of interests in each of the West African Colonies and Protectorates?
Mr. HARCOURTThe existing restrictions apply to the total area of concessions tenable by one person or firm, and not to the number of concessions so tenable. The rules as to areas vary in the different adminstrations according to the nature of the concessions, whether mining, agricultural, etc.
