HC Deb 09 June 1913 vol 53 c1261
72. Mr. WATT

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the age at which his Department insists that the employés therein must retire; and whether he can say how many have retired at that age during the last three years?

The CHANCELLOR of the EXCHEQUER (Mr. Lloyd George)

There have been no retirements from the Treasury on the ground of age during the last three years. The practice of the Treasury is governed by Clause 15 of the Order in Council of 10th January, 1910, under which the head of a Department may call upon any officer serving therein to retire at any time after attaining the age of 60.
