HC Deb 09 June 1913 vol 53 c1248
47. Mr.GODFREY LOCKER-LAMPSON

asked the Prime Minister whether he will consult with the great friendly society orders before he comes to any decision with regard to the allocation of time for the stages of the forthcoming National Insurance Act Amending Bill?

The PRIME MINISTER

Any representations which the friendly societies may make on this subject will receive careful consideration. I am told that my right hon. Friend is already in communication with them.

54. Mr. GODFREY LOCKER-LAMPSON

asked the Prime Minister when he proposes to introduce the National Insurance Act Amending Bill; and whether it is his intention to withdraw the Committee stage of the Bill from the Whole House and send it to a Committee upstairs?

The PRIME MINISTER

We hope to introduce the Bill in a few days. It is the intention of the Government to send the Bill to a Committee upstairs.

Sir J. D. REES

May I ask the Prime Minister if he will consider the extreme detestation in which the Bill is held and give the whole House the chance of discussing it in Committee? May I make a most serious appeal to him if he can—

Mr. SPEAKER

This is the time for questions, and not for appeals.
