HC Deb 05 June 1913 vol 53 c1057
Mr. BONAR LAW

Will the right hon. Gentleman state the business for next week?

The PRIME MINISTER

On Monday we shall move the Second Reading of the Government of Ireland Bill. I understand it will be agreeable to all parties in the House if we take the Division on Tuesday night.

If this is agreed to, we shall take the Second Reading of the Finance Bill on Wednesday, followed by some of the other Bills on the Paper.

On Thursday we shall take Supply—I understand the Local Government Board Vote.

As to the business on Friday, I will make a statement at the beginning of the week.

Mr. BONAR LAW

"Agreeable" is hardly the word. "Contemptuous" would more accurately describe our attitude towards this proceeding. As we were informed that the Home Rule Bill was delayed in order that the other Bills under the Parliament Act might be proceeded with consecutively, could the right hon. Gentleman now tell us when the Second Readings of these other Bills will be taken?

The PRIME MINISTER

Immediately at the beginning of the week after. The delay is only because the Finance Bill was not carried the other night.

Sir G. YOUNGER

When will the Scottish Estimates be taken?

The PRIME MINISTER

I cannot say without notice.

Mr. JAMES HOPE

What Orders will be taken after the Finance Bill on Wednesday? Can the right hon. Gentleman also say if it is his intention in the near future to propose any new Standing Order of the House?

The PRIME MINISTER

That is a question of which I ought to have notice. In regard to the other Bills, I will communicate them.
