HC Deb 29 July 1913 vol 56 c272
23. Mr. POINTER

asked the Secretary for the Colonies whether his attention has been called to the discussion in the Legislative Council of St. Lucia as to the need for immediately providing for the Vigie light at the signal station; and whether, seeing the importance of the harbour of Castries to the island of St. Lucia, and in view of the improvements proceeding in the competing French and Danish islands, he will arrange for the provision of the light to be immediately proceeded with?

Mr. HARCOURT

My attention has been called to the discussion in question. Provision has been made on the current Estimates for commencing the work, but, after consultation with the Elder Brethren of Trinity House, it has been decided to perfect the Tapion and new leading lights system first.
