HC Deb 29 July 1913 vol 56 cc289-90
57. Mr. COOPER

asked what is the amount that will be due to the borough of Walsall under the Supplemental Grant of £150,000 provided under the Education (No. 2) Bill?

Mr. PEASE

If the hon. Member will consult paragraph 2 of the draft Regulations for the distribution of the £100,000, he will see that the distribution will be proportioned to the sums borrowed by local education authorities during the year ending 31st March, 1913. As I shall have no information of the total borrowings of local education authorities until the Returns under paragraph V of the Regulations have been delivered I am not in a position to state the amount that will be payable to the borough of Walsall or any other authority. In regard to the £50,000 for medical inspection, which, as the hon. Member knows, is to be taken as an addition to the- subvention already on the Estimates for medical treatment, I hope to lay Regulations in the course of a few days.
