HC Deb 17 July 1913 vol 55 cc1436-7
85. Mr. LEACH

asked the President of the Board of Trade if it is the intention of his Department in the near future to apply the Trade Boards Act to farm labourers in any of the counties of England?

The PRESIDENT of the BOARD of TRADE (Mr. Buxton)

The Board of Trade have no power to extend the application of the Trade Boards Act to agriculture without the assent of Parliament. As my hon. Friend is aware, agriculture is not among the trades included in the scope of the Provisional Order Bill now before the House, and no further Provisional Order Bill extending the application of the Trade Boards Act is contemplated during the present Session.
