asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many suffragettes are now in prison; how many are in penal servitude; how many are refusing to take food; and how many have been temporarily released?

Mr. McKENNA

The number now in prison is eleven. One of these is under sentence of penal servitude. Five are refusing their food. Fourteen are out of prison on temporary discharge.
