HC Deb 17 July 1913 vol 55 c1418
38. Mr. FREDERICK HALL (Dulwich)

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty the approximate value of the oil estimated to be required for naval purposes during the years 1913 and 1914; the total expenditure in oil in 1911 and 1912; whether tenders are obtained by public advertisement for the oil required or, if not, what course is followed in obtaining prices; and if he can state where particulars can be found of the oil contracts now in existence and of the tenders received before such contracts were entered into?

Mr. CHURCHILL

I must refer the hon. Member to the reply I gave yesterday to the Noble Lord, the Member for Ports mouth.

Mr. F. HALL

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that there was really no information indicated in his reply to the Noble Lord?

Mr. CHURCHILL

The reply was that there was very little information to be given, but what information could be given would be given by me in the course of the discussion to-day.
