HC Deb 17 July 1913 vol 55 cc1412-3
22. Mr. PATRICK MEEHAN

asked the Chief Secretary if he is aware that many schemes for the providing of cottages under the Labourers (Ireland) Acts, promoted by various district councils in Ireland, are held up for want of funds; and. whether a sufficient advance on the same terms of interest and repayment as under the Act of 1906 will be made to enable these schemes to be proceeded with without further delay?

Mr. BIRRELL

I have nothing at present to add to the reply given to the question on this subject asked by the hon. Member for Mid-Cork on 8th May.

Mr. GINNELL

When does the right hon. Gentleman expect to be able to give information on this subject? Will he be able to do so before the end of this Session?

Mr. BIRRELL

I think on Monday next I shall have the pleasure of making some observations on this subject, and if the hon. Member will listen he will know if I say anything on it.
