HC Deb 17 July 1913 vol 55 cc1435-6
Mr. HUGH BARRIE

asked the President of the Board of Agriculture what lairage for Irish cattle is now available at the ports of Fleetwood, Liverpool, Stranraer, Ardrossan, and Greenock?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

At Fleetwood there is lairage accommodation for 183 Irish cattle, and at the Port of Liverpool on the Birkenhead side of the Mersey there is accommodation for 6,000. According to my latest information the work of providing lairages at Greenock and Stranraer is in progress and nearing completion. I understand that in the case of Ardrossan no definite decision has yet been arrived at.
