47. Mr. POINTERasked the Prime Minister whether, in view of the need of open spaces in London in the interests of public health and recreation, he will appoint a Parliamentary Committee to inquire into the best means of preserving and adapting the Royal parks for that purpose?
§ The PRIME MINISTERThere has been a great increase in the use of the Royal parks of late years in the direction my hon. Friend suggests, and while it does not seem to me that any useful purpose would be served by the appointment of a Parliamentary Committee, I hope to see a still freer use of these open spaces in the future.
