Captain MURRAYasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether his attention has been drawn to the scheme for providing an embankment on the south side of the Thames from the new County Hall to the projected St. Paul's Bridge, and to the suggestion that the London County Council and the various local authorities concerned should be asked to contribute £500,000 towards the cost of the scheme, while the balance of approximately the same amount should be provided by the Road Board; and whether the funds at the disposal of the Road Board can properly be applied to schemes of this description?
