§ 92. Mr. NEWMANasked the Chief Secretary whether his attention has been called to the resolution of the Fenagh, county Leitrim, branch of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, approving of the action of the United Irish League regarding certain land grabbers, and calling on the branches of the order at Mohill and Carrick-on-Shannon to see that traders in their towns should cease supplying any such people with goods; and whether he will state how many people in this part of county Leitrim are subject to boycott owing to the action of the Ancient Order of Hibernians?
§ Mr. BIRRELLI have seen a newspaper report of the resolution referred to. The police inform me that one person in the district has been partially boycotted for some time, and that the passing of the resolution in question does not materially alter the circumstances. The police are watching the matter carefully.
