HC Deb 23 January 1913 vol 47 cc603-4
81. Mr. J. P. FARRELL

asked whether the right hon. Gentleman's attention has been called to the refusal of the Insurance Commission to pay sick benefit to Miss Margaret Tierney, Ballymahon Street, Longford, a voluntary contributor in the St. Brigid's branch of the Irish National Foresters. Longford; whether the right hon. Gentleman is aware that this contributor applied for information to the post office, Longford, as to the amount of stamp that should be put on her card, and was at first informed that a 3½d. stamp would do, and then a 4½d. one; whether she is now told that she should have put a 9d. stamp on her card; and whether, as the mistake was not hers and she stamped her card according to official direction, he will see that her sick benefit is now paid at the proper amount?

Mr. MASTERMAN

I am communicating with the society in question with regard to this case, and I will inform my hon. Friend of the result.
