asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he can state the minimum amount of the preference to sugar of 96 degrees polarisation granted to British West Indian products in the Canadian market under the agreement for reciprocal preferential trading signed on 10th April last, in cents per 100 lbs. and approximately in pence per cwt.?

The agreement which has been published in Cd. 6092 provides, in clause 2, that the minimum amount of preference on raw sugar testing 96 degrees by the polariscope shall be 15 cents per 100 lbs., which may be taken as approximately 8½d. per cwt.
