HC Deb 16 January 1913 vol 46 c2265
Mr. JAMES MASON

May I ask whether the Government, in view of the deadlock in the existing peace negotiations between the Allies and Turkey, will call a conference of the Powers of Europe for the purpose of arranging a peace acceptable both to Turkey and the Allies?

The UNDER - SECRETARY for FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Mr. Acland)

I assume my hon. Friend's object is to secure close and constant communication between the Powers. I can only say that that is the state of things which now exist, and the position is still receiving the continued attention of the Powers, who are in constant communication with one another. Therefore I do not see what would be gained by my hon. Friend's suggestion.
