HC Deb 16 January 1913 vol 46 c2299
Mr. BONAR LAW

Has the Prime Minister any statement to make as to the course of business?

The PRIME MINISTER

On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday next week we shall continue the Committee stage of the Welsh Church Bill. On Thursday, the 23rd, we propose to take the Resolution for Allocation of Time for the Franchise Bill. On Friday, the 24th; Monday, the 27th; and Tuesday, the 28th, the House will deal with the Woman Suffrage Amendments to the Franchise Bill. On Monday, the 20th, after 10.30, we hope to take the Market Gardeners Compensation Bill. With regard to business to be taken afterwards and as to the final arrangements for the Session with respect to Government measures, I am still having inquiries made with the object, if possible, of meeting the general convenience, and I hope to make a definite announcement on Monday.

Lord BALCARRES

Would it be possible for the right hon. Gentleman to put down the guillotine notice about the Franchise Bill pretty soon, in order that Members may know at what time the Amendments relating to female suffrage will be discussed?

The PRIME MINISTER

I hope to put it down to-morrow.

Lord BALCARRES

May I ask when the Attorney-General will put down his notice relating to the Whitechapel seat?

The PRIME MINISTER

There is a point under discussion with some of the members of the Committee, but the notice will be put down as soon as possible.

Viscount HELMSLEY

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware of the great inconvenience caused to hon. Members by not knowing when the Adjournment of the House may be expected?

The PRIME MINISTER

I have said I hope to make an announcement on Monday.
