HC Deb 15 January 1913 vol 46 c2059
29. Sir CHARLES HUNTER

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies, the probable cost of the proposed visit of the Commissioners of the Dominions Royal Commission to the Dominion of Canada and Colony of Newfoundland, the Dominion of New Zealand and Commonwealth of Australia, and the Union of South Africa?

Mr. HARCOURT

The cost to Imperial funds of the travelling and subsistence expenses incurred by the visit which the Commissioners are now making to Australia and New Zealand, and by the visit which they will pay to South Africa at the end of the year is estimated at £9,408. The visit of the Commissioners to Canada and Newfoundland will not fall within the coming financial year, and I cannot at present state the probable cost.
