HC Deb 01 January 1913 vol 46 cc339-40
17. Mr. TOUCHE

asked the Under-Secretary of State for India whether the Secretary of State is in a position to present Papers regarding the question of, the establishment of a mint for the coinage of gold in India?

The FINANCIAL SECRETARY to the WAR OFFICE (Mr. Harold Baker)

The Secretary of State will be glad to present papers as soon as they can be printed.

20. Mr. TOUCHE

asked whether the Bombay or Calcutta mints have been working overtime at any time since September, 1912?

Mr. BAKER

I have no information on the point, but except in the past month the outturn of new rupees does not appear to have been much if at all in excess of what the mints are able to produce without overtime.
