HC Deb 01 January 1913 vol 46 c338
15. Mr. ROWLANDS

asked the Secretary of State whether his attention has been called to the case mentioned at Woolwich police court on the 26th December, in which an artilleryman dragged from the river a woman who had attempted suicide, and in so doing damaged his uniform; and whether there are any means whereby a soldier damaging his uniform under such circumstances may be exonerated from the necessity of meeting a claim of the regimental authorities in respect of the damage?

Colonel SEELY

I am having inquiries made, and if it is found that the facts are as stated my hon. Friend may rest assured that this man will not suffer financially in any way.
