§ 102. Mr. C. DUNCANasked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in view of the fact that no clerk in his Department is compelled either to forego the usual Saturday half-holiday or to sacrifice the pay for the first three hours of any overtime they may work, he will take the necessary steps to obtain the cancellation of a practice recently commenced in certain branches of his Department?
Mr. ROBERTSONOwing to pressure of work, it is sometimes necessary for clerks to forego a half-holiday on Saturday, and in such cases they are not called upon to sacrifice the first three hours of overtime done on previous days of the week. I am not aware of any recent change of practice in the branches of the Board of Trade.
§ Mr. C. DUNCANMight I supply the information?
