§ The FINANCIAL SECRETARY to the WAR OFFICE (Mr. Harold Baker)Complaints have been received on several occasions from Indian traders of illegal duties levied by local Tibetan authorities on their merchandise. The most recent case that has been brought to the Secretary of State's notice was in September, 1912. I understand that the duties complained of have now been removed. As regards the second part of the question, no action of the kind suggested by the hon. Member is contemplated by His Majesty's Government.
