HC Deb 04 February 1913 vol 47 cc1983-4
48. Mr. STEWART

asked the Prime Minister if, in view of the additional time now available under the altered Parliamentary situation, he will reconsider his previous decision and give the necessary time for the passing into Law of the Feeble-minded Persons (Control) Bill this Session?

The PRIME MINISTER

I am afraid I cannot give facilities for the Bill referred to.

Mr. STEWART

May I ask if the Prime Minister is aware there are rumours in the Press and in the Lobby that the Mental Deficiency legislation is going to be dropped for next year, and if we may accept his answer as an assurance that it will not be crowded out of next Session?

The PRIME MINISTER

I know nothing of the rumours either in the Press or in the Lobby. I have already stated it is the intention of the Government to proceed with the Bill next Session.
