HC Deb 04 February 1913 vol 47 c1992
63. Sir J. D. REES

asked the Secretary to the Treasury if a domestic servant gets ill and goes to his or her home, how his or her transfer is arranged from one to another panel practitioner?

Mr. MASTERMAN

Any insured person who changes his residence, on giving notice to the insurance committee of the area to which he is going, will be able to obtain treatment from a doctor on the panel in that area.

Mr. GRETTON

Can the right hon. Gentleman give any indication of the amount of time that will be occupied in these transfers?

Mr. MASTERMAN

No; I do not think I can. I think a Regulation has been issued on the subject.

Mr. MILDMAY

In the case of servants moving back and forward in the course of a year, does it apply to them?

Mr. MASTERMAN

Certainly, if they are a really long period of time away from one place to another, it will. If they are continually moving from one place to another I think they will find it more convenient to take advantage of the special arrangements.

Mr. GWYNNE

Is a separate ticket necessary in each case?

Mr. MASTERMAN

I do not think so. Of course they will require a ticket.

Mr. GWYNNE

How will they have one to show to the second doctor if they have already given their pink ticket to their original doctor?
