REESasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he has, and will communicate to the House, statistics showing to what extent the abolition of licensed houses, since the passing of the Finance Act of 1910, has been followed by a corresponding increase in the number -if clubs; what increase has occurred in respect of clubs since the passing of that Act; and how it compares with the increase in this behalf of the preceding five years?

Member will find full information as to the rate of decrease in the number of licensed houses and increase in the number of registered clubs for each of the years 1903 to 1912 if he will refer to pages 3 and 4 of the Introduction to the Licensing Statistics for 1912 and the diagrams mentioned therein. These statistics will be presented to the House before it rises.
