§ 1. Mr. MORRELLasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he can give particulars of the number of cases in 1912 in which proceedings were instituted under the Employment of Children Act in respect of the carrying of excessive weights by children and of the result of such cases; and whether he is proposing to take any further steps with a view to putting a stop to this practice?
§ The SECRETARY of STATE for the HOME DEPARTMENT (Mr. McKenna)I have no separate information as to the number or result of cases taken in respect of this particular offence by the local authorities who, as my hon. Friend will be aware, are charged with the general administration of the Act. As regards the last part of his question, I would refer him to the answer which I gave to a question on this subject on the 10th of July by the Noble Lord the Member for South Nottingham.
