Mr. HARCOURTThe total area of the territory is about 291,000 square miles, of which about 60,000 is in the Barotse reserve. An area of about 490 square miles is being reserved from European settlement near Fort Jameson. The land alienated to Europeans (including companies) is about 13,101 square miles.
§ Mr. WEDGWOODDoes the right hon. Gentleman include in the term "companies," chartered companies?
