HC Deb 29 April 1913 vol 52 cc975-6
18. Mr. PERKINS

asked the President of the Board of Agriculture whether he has any official information as to recent purchases of British horses for exportation by the agents of foreign European Governments; and whether he will furnish a Return of the number of British horses exported from the United Kingdom for the three months ending the 25th March, 1913, and the ports of their destination?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

I have no official or detailed information concerning the purchase of British horses by agents of foreign Governments. Fifteen thousand nine hundred and ninety-seven horses were exported from the United Kingdom in the three months ended 31st March last, of which 12,008 were declared to be under £20 in value, and of the remainder 2,008 were declared to be under £50 in value.—[See Written Answers this date.]
