HC Deb 28 April 1913 vol 52 cc795-6
48. Mr. GEORGE TERRELL

asked the Prime Minister whether the Departmental Committee on the Companies Acts, appointed in 1905, had evidence before them of heavy public loss and ministerial complications such as have occurred in connection with the American Marconi Company?

The PRIME MINISTER

I have nothing to add to the reply which I gave the hon. Member on Thursday last. The Departmental Committee to which he refers considered all relevant facts.

Mr. G.TERRELL

Does not the right hon. Gentleman consider that the special circumstances of the present case require an independent impartial investigation?

The PRIME MINISTER

No, Sir, I think the investigation was conducted by a very competent Committee, and very recently, and I see no reason why it should be reopened.
