Mr. FRANCIS MEEHANasked whether he will state how much money has been distributed by the Estates Commissioners on the tenants on the Tottenham estate, county Leitrim; how many tenants have been assisted; how many are on the list for future assistance; and how much money is still available for the assistance of evicted poor tenants?
§ Mr. BIRRELLIn connection with the improvement of this estate, which has been purchased by the Estates Commissioners, an expenditure of some £5,500 is proposed which is to be by way of Grant. It is proposed that over 200 tenants will benefit in the expenditure of the money, of which over £3,000 has been expended. The balance of the money will not be expended until a scheme for the allotment of the turbary, on the preparation of which the inspector is at present employed, has been approved.
