§ 1. Mr. BOOTHasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what is the attitude of His Majesty's Government towards the concession granted by the Cuban Government to the North Coast Railway Company of Cuba?
§ The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Mr. Acland)His Majesty's Government consider that 1600 the concession to the North Coast Railway Company for the construction of a line from Caibarien to Nuevitas was ultra vires, and they have, on two separate occasions, addressed urgent representations to the Cuban Government against the concession and in favour of the tender of the Cuban Central Railways, Limited, a British company. This latter company is continuing to receive the support of His Majesty's Government.
