Gentleman whether, in view of the increased cost of living, and the fact that the salaries of senior abstractors in Government Departments compare unfavourably with the salaries in other grades of the Civil Service, and that they have remained at their maximum for a period of six years and upwards, he will now increase the salaries?
§ Mr. LLOYD GEORGEThe maximum salary of an abstractor, £150 per annum, is not, in my opinion, inadequate for the class of work which he is called upon to perform.
