§ The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Mr. Acland)I have received through the Admiralty some reports from the Commander of the "Dwarf," which indicate that slave-trading has been attempted off the West Coast of Africa. Measures have been taken to prevent such practices, and I expect further reports from His Majesty's Vice-Consul, who is now visiting the islands off that coast. I do not propose to lay Papers, at any rate until I have fuller information on the subject.
