HC Deb 23 October 1912 vol 42 c2195
77. Mr. WORTHINGTON-EVANS

asked how many different official explanatory leaflets, statutory rules and orders, model rules and rules, draft regulations, provisional regulations and regulations, orders, special orders, draft orders, draft special orders, and amended draft orders, circulars and amended circulars, memoranda lists and supplements, forms, provisional forms, and amended forms, have been issued in connection with the National Insurance Act by respective Commissioners for England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland, and the Joint Committee; and whether the Secretary to the Treasury can state approximately how many printed pages these documents cover?

Mr. MASTERMAN

I beg to refer the hon. Member to the replies I gave to the hon. Members for King's Lynn and Enfield on the 9th May, 13th June, and 15th July. I am unable to give the number of the documents, and their pages, referred to by the hon. Member, but, as I stated in answer to the hon. Member for Wilton on the 7th August, the total amount expended on stationery and printing in connection with both parts of the National Insurance Act between the introduction of the Bill into the House of Commons and that date was approximately £100,000.

Mr. WORTHINGTON-EVANS

Can the right hon. Gentleman say approximately how many printed pages he has covered, or has he lost count?

Mr. MASTERMAN

I am afraid it would be impossible to state the number.
