HC Deb 17 October 1912 vol 42 cc1405-6
39. Mr. CHARLES CRAIG

asked if the right, hon. Gentleman could state the number of second-grade teachers of national schools in Circuit 9, Section A, who completed their incremental period on the 31st March, 1912, and were during the-past three years favourably reported on, who have not as yet been awarded increments of good service salary; and will he state when the claims of these teachers will be considered?

Mr. BIRRELL

The Commissioners of National Education inform me that five such teachers have not yet been paid increments of good service salary. Three of these teachers have been awarded increments, and payment of the amounts due will be soon made. The remaining two cases are at present under consideration, and it is hoped that a favourable decision will be arrived at by an early date.
