HC Deb 17 October 1912 vol 42 c1427
Mr. HUGH LAW

I desire to ask the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs a question, of which I have given him private notice, namely: Whether his attention has been called to a statement that the British Government is assisting Turkey at the present moment to obtain a loan in the City of London, and whether he has any information to give the House on the matter?

Mr. ACLAND

There is no truth whatever in the report. The Government has aiot been approached, nor have we had any communications with financiers on the subject of a loan to Turkey.
