HC Deb 16 October 1912 vol 42 cc1236-7
68. Mr. CHARLES BATHURST

asked whether the Health Insurance Commissioners have issued or propose to issue provisional Regulations for the uniform administration of maternity benefit under I he National Insurance Act or whether it is open to each insurance committee to make its own arrangements and regulations in reference thereto?

Mr. MASTERMAN

The Commissioners are not authorised to issue such Regulations, but they propose to issue model rules for the administration of benefit by insurance committees to deposit contributors. The maternity benefit of members of approved societies is administered by the societies.

Mr. C. BATHURST

Can the right hon. Gentleman give any guidance to the county committees as to the course they should take in advising insured persons or otherwise?

Mr. MASTERMAN

We shall issue some model Regulations to the insurance committees in connection with deposit contributors.
