HC Deb 16 October 1912 vol 42 cc1211-2
30. Mr. CHARLES BATHURST

asked how many inspectors, clerks, and other officials have been appointed by the Board of Agriculture during the last twelve months; how many of these passed any qualifying examination prior to their appointment; and what, in the absence of such examination, is the process by which such posts are sought and obtained?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

Perhaps the hon. Member would allow me to circulate the answer with the Votes.

Mr. C. BATHURST

Can the right hon. Gentleman say whether any official of the Board had to pass a qualifying examination before entering the service of the Board?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

Yes, before he enters the service of the Board permanently.
