GREYIn a communication made to the Press after my recent meeting with Monsieur Sazonoff it was stated that in order to expedite the withdrawal of foreign troops from Persia both Powers are carefully considering how far they could best assist in strengthening the Persian Government for the purpose of enabling the latter to re-establish order and to secure the safety of the trade routes. My hon. Friend will gather from this that the assurances of the Russian Government referred to in the answer to a question of the hon. Member for Burnley, on 30th July last, still hold good.
