HC Deb 07 October 1912 vol 42 cc20-1
5. Mr. KING

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether any vacancies have occurred in the per sonnel of the Royal Commission on Divorce; if so, have those vacancies been filled; and when the Report of this Royal Commission will be presented to His Majesty?

The SECRETARY of STATE for the HOME DEPARTMENT (Mr. McKenna)

One vacancy, caused by the resignation of Sir Rufus Isaacs, was filled by the appointment of Sir Frederick Treves; two subsequent vacancies, caused by the resignation of the Earl of Derby and the death of Sir George White, have not been filled up. I understand that it is expected that Lord Gorell will return to town this week and resume his duties as chairman of the Commission, and that the Report will shortly afterwards be presented.
