HC Deb 28 November 1912 vol 44 c1487
87. Major ARCHER-SHEE

asked whether the question of identifying the number and value of foreign motor tyres imported into this country had been referred to the Departmental Committee; and, if so, whether the President of the Board of Trade can now state what is the number and value, of tyres imported into the United Kingdom from foreign countries in October, 1912?

Mr. BUXTON

The question has been referred to the Committee, and though the full Report of the Committee has not yet been received, I understand that it will recommend that imports of motor tyres shall be separately recorded. The change will not, however, be brought into operation until the commencement of 1913, and particulars for last month are not available.
