HC Deb 26 November 1912 vol 44 c991
25. Mr. C. BATHURST

asked the Secretary for War whether, in view of the fact that the local audit staff on the established list attached to the Southern Command, who are paid from Civil Service Votes, are receiving a substantial addition to their remuneration owing to the present high cost of living prevailing there, he will, in revising the ration allowance of the soldiers on the same administrative staff, consider their claim to additional remuneration on the same grounds?

Mr. BAKER

I regret that I still cannot follow the hon. Member's reference to this staff; but if they are paid from Civil Service Votes they would not be administered by the War Office.
