HC Deb 26 November 1912 vol 44 c980
1. Mr. KING

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs when Mr. H. S. Hughes will be placed on his trial by the Columbian Government; and whether the British Consul has been instructed to report immediately any development of this case?

The SECRETARY of STATE for FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Sir E. Grey)

I have no information as to the date of the trial. His Majesty's Minister at Bogota has full instructions, and will telegraph any further development of the case. I shall then be prepared to make a further statement on the matter.

Mr. KING

Will the right hon. Gentleman say how long ago it is since the offence arose with which Mr. Hughes was charged?

Sir E. GREY

I cannot say that without notice.
